The panel is very slightly convex towards its centre, but otherwise ensuring a stable support. Colours are strong and the overall appearance is good. There is some rubbing along the framing edges, which has been addressed along the upper edge with strokes of retouching visible to the naked eye, and a pattern of drying craquelure throughout the composition. Ultra-violet light reveals areas of uneven fluorescence due to old residual varnish, extensive lines of cosmetic retouching in the sky in the lower right quadrant of the composition and in the foliage to the left. The picture is otherwise in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
