Condition

Overall, the condition of the bronze is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is particular dirt to the underside of the skirt. The marble base is in good condition, with a few minor chips, including to the edges. There are various labels to the underside of the base.

Austrian artist Bruno Zach was most known for his elegant, Art Nouveau style statuettes of dancers and young women, executed in bronze or chryselephantine. The present sculpture is perhaps his most famous model.
