Catalogue Note

This beautifully carved marble Seated Nymph relates to several models by Lorenzo Bartolini (1777-1850), the great Italian Neoclassical sculptor. The composition is in part derived from Bartolini's La Fiducia in Dio and his Ninfa (op. cit., nos. 14 and 25).
