Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with some wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is rubbing to the patina at the high points with some larger areas, including the proper right shoulder, the proper left knee, and the proper left arm of the woman. There are also a few areas of light scratching to the patina, notably to the woman's back, her proper left elbow, and the child's proper left thigh. There are a few minor spots of greening, including to the woman's head at the top, her proper right thigh and to the child's proper left hand. A few original stable casting joints are slightly visible, including at the woman's proper right arm and proper left hand. There appears to be an original bronze insert to the child's proper right shin. There are a few further scratches, notably to the base.
