Catalogue Note

This attractive bronze Venus is reminiscent of compositions by Gabriel Grupello (1644-1730), the Flemish sculptor active in North Germany. Compare with the bronze Boy with a shell, sitting on a dolphin from his circle in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (inv. no. R.B.K.1960-30).
