Description

  • Design for a shaving dish and ewer
  • Pen and brown ink and grey wash over black chalk within double pen and brown ink framing lines

Condition

Hinged to the mount at the upper margin. Light scattered foxing around the margins of the sheet, most noticeable along the lower margin. A few repaired tears around the margins. The lower right corner has been made up and there is a small tear. There is also a small tear at the upper left corner. A few brown ink splashes/studio stains located between the dish and the ewer. Overall in good condition - pen and ink and wash remain strong and vibrant - minor condition issues are concentrated around the edges of the sheet leaving the main composition in a good state. Sold in a gilded frame
