Description
- Relief of Giulia Albani degli Abati Olivieri (1630-1718)
- terracotta
- Italian, Rome, early 18th century
the reverse with a red wax seal with initials GC and some Italian eighteenth century paper with illegible writing, and with an illegible, possibly Italian, export stamp
Condition
Overall the condition of the terracotta is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a slip to the surface, which could, possibly, conceal condition issues. The bottom edge of the relief appears to be reattached or restored. There appears to be a restoration to the highest lock of hair above the ear. There are a few dirt marks, including to the top of relief. There are stable minor firing fissures to the reverse.
