Case with usual scuffs throughout and scratches between the lugs and on the back due to age and use. Interesting watch.

Catalogue Note

Enamel dials hold a special place amongst enthusiast's collections. They add a colour interest to a functional watch. Many of the most prestigious manufactures such as Patek Philippe, Rolex or Vacheron Constantin produced enamel dials but always in very limited quantities.

The dial of this desirable lot has a representation of the map of North America and Greenland which is extremely similar to the Patek Philippe ref. 605 with cloisonné enamel (please refer to Sotheby's New York, 22nd October 2002, lot 58).

The dial as well as the 14k gold case seem to indicate that the watch was originally produced for the American market.

The present watch is further distinguished by its elegant lugs and its original signed crown.
