Condition

Overall in very good condition. The clock has a very delicate scale and strong sculptural presence when viewed firsthand. The handle and hinge of the door both impressed with Lion Passant , and interior of the door is impressed with Lion Passant and date letter, which were not included in the print catalogue. The silver surfaces present with a few occasional light surface scratches, scattered minute abrasions and very light evidence of tarnish concentrated to the recessed portions of the design, consistent with age and gentle handling. The top of the clock with a minute ding along the upper right edge, visible on the catalogue illustration. The enameled face of the clock is presents with beautiful deeply saturated colors in a range of brilliant jewel-tone hues. The face of the clock with a few minor horizontal surface scratches located at mid-height of the clock. The glass with a minute shallow surface scratch, measuring 1/8 in. in length. The movement impressed FRENCH MADE and with a key. Movement is not guaranteed to run at the time of cataloging and was not tested for accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. A wonderful jewel-like masterwork displaying the luminous and vivid enamel decoration characteristic of this master craftsman.
