Overall in very good original condition. The patinated bronze surfaces throughout display a rich and satisfying layered russet brown and green patina. The frame displays an exceptional quality to the casting, which is particularly sculptural and well defined. The catalogue photography is slightly too green and does not fully capture the richness and nuance seen in the russet brown tones in the patina. The patinated bronze with some occasional light surface scratches, abrasions and gentle rubbing consistent with age and gentle handling. The backplate to the reverse with a few areas of minor discoloration, scattered surface scratches and areas of light rubbing to the patina. The backplate appears to retain the original easel stand, sliding backplate and associated hardware. The clear glass front is likely handcut and one of the edges is irregular and rough to the touch, concealed when the glass is placed in the frame. The clear glass front with scattered shallow surface scratches and minor edge chips throughout, none of which are visible once the glass is installed in the frame. This rare frame presents beautifully with strong visual presence.
