Description

  • Tiffany Studios
  • Three-Panel "Pine Needle" Tea Screen
  • favrile glass and patinated bronze

Provenance

Lillian Nassau, New York, 1973

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The favrile glass panels appear original and undisturbed, and are in very good condition showing no cracks. The favrile glass is vigorously mottled, and when viewed with remitted light shows vibrant hues of yellow and orange. The patinated bronze surfaces throughout display a rich russet brown and green patina, showing gentle rubbing and light surface soiling in some of the recessed contours consistent with age and gentle handling, and with some traces of minor surface oxidation most prevalent to the reverse of the screen. A very charming object that displays beautifully. The connectors between the panels allow for a variety of arrangements—the panels can be moved freely.
