Condition
Overall in very good condition. The gilt bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich warm patina, showing gentle rubbing, a few scattered light surface scratches and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The bronze surfaces with a few small and minute areas of discoloration, as seen in the catalogue illustration. All of the textured favrile glass tiles appear original and undisturbed. The exterior surfaces of the favrile glass with some occasional minute surface irregularities and air bubble inclusions, all inherent in the making. Each of the tiles are beautifully iridized, and displays strong luminous color with a range of brilliant jewel-tone hues. The reverse with a few areas of discoloration, surface soiling to the recessed elements, scattered surface scratches and areas of light rubbing to the patina. The reverse appears to retain the original easel stand and associated hardware. The clear glass front can be removed through the opening at the top of the backplate. The glass front likely handcut with one irregular edge. The glass front with scattered minute edge chips throughout and one large edge loss measuring 1 ½ inches in length, none of which are visible once the glass is installed in the frame. This rare frame presents beautifully with strong visual presence and outstanding coloration to the textured glass panels.
