Condition

Overall in very good condition. The gilt bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich warm patina, showing gentle rubbing, a few scattered light surface scratches, minor discolorations and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The enamel portion of the frame displays brilliantly saturated tones with strong luminosity that range from delicate light rose to rich magenta. The colors of the enamelwork with greater saturation and nuance than what appear in the catalogue illustration. The enamel with some minor rubbing and few very minute surface scratches concentrated to the high portions of the design. The reverse with a few scattered minor discolorations, scattered surface scratches and areas of light rubbing to the patina along edge of the backplate. The reverse appears to retain the original easel stand and associated hardware. The glass front can be removed through the opening at the top of the backplate. One area of adhesive residue and one old adhesive label. The glass front with one edge that has been cut unevenly and is slightly rough to the touch. Two of the corners with losses, the largest measuring ½ inch in length, and with scattered minute edge chips throughout. None of these chips and losses are visible once the glass is installed in the frame. This calendar frame includes all of the original month cards and date cards. Each displays minor discoloration from age and light surface scratches from handling. The month cards each with a minor crease to one corner that extends ¾ of the length of the card. A gorgeous frame that showcases the Tiffany firm’s fine craftsmanship in enamelwork.
