Condition

Overall in very good condition. The gilt bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich warm patina, showing gentle rubbing, a few scattered light surface scratches and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The enamel portion of the frame displays brilliantly saturated tones with strong luminosity that range from delicate light rose to rich magenta. The colors of the enamelwork with greater saturation and nuance than what appear in the catalogue illustration. The enamel with some minor rubbing and few very minute surface scratches concentrated to the high portions of the design. The reverse with minor discoloration, scattered surface scratches and areas of light rubbing to the patina concentrated to the edges. The reverse appears to retain the original easel stand and associated hardware. The glass front can be removed through the opening at the top of the backplate. One area of adhesive residue that has darkened and two old adhesive labels. The glass front with scattered minute edge chips throughout, minor losses at three of the four corners and one adjacent surface fleck measuring ¼ inch in length. None of these chips and losses are visible once the glass is installed in the frame. A gorgeous frame that showcases the Tiffany firm’s fine craftsmanship in enamelwork.
