Condition

Overall in very good condition. The gilt bronze surfaces throughout retain a rich warm patina, showing gentle rubbing, a few scattered light surface scratches and light surface soiling to some of the recessed contours of the design consistent with age and gentle use. The bronze surfaces with a few small and minor areas of discoloration that appears consistent with age and use. The enamel passages of the frame display brilliantly saturated tones that further heighten the delicate sculptural border. Ranging from vivid yellow, garnet red and emerald green, the enamelwork displays an elegant and rich palette. The enamel with some minor rubbing and a few occasional minute losses concentrated to the high portions of the design. The reverse with a few areas of minor discoloration, scattered surface scratches and areas of light rubbing to the patina. The reverse appears to retain the original easel stand, and associated hardware. The clear glass front with scattered minute edge chips throughout, the largest measuring ½ inch in length, none of which are visible once the glass is installed in the frame. The clear glass front can be removed through the opening at the top of the backplate. A particularly rare jewel-like frame displaying impressive scale, beautiful coloration and intricate detailing to the decorative scheme.
