Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 3 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. The shade leading is rendered with particularly fine lines displaying a rich russet brown and green patina. The shade has minor traces of surface soiling concentrated around the perimeter edges of the lead lines and to some of the recessed contours of the glass. The rare patinated metal fringe appears original and undisturbed to the shade and is in very good condition. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base display a rich russet brown and green patina, with minimal surface wear, some occasional minor surface abrasions and gentle rubbing consistent with age and very gentle use. With some light surface soiling to the recessed contours of the base. All of the six sockets appear to be original and undisturbed. The decorative bronze base switch also appears to be original, and is fully functional as a two-way switch. With a rare period “Acorn” finial which shows a closely corresponding patina to the base and is assumingly original to the lamp. A particularly attractive and rare example of this elegant Parasol model distinguished by the exceedingly rare fringe border which greatly enhances the lamp’s visual presence. When viewed firsthand the glass selection is less saturated and less red in coloration than seen in the catalogue illustration.
