Description

  • stoneware
the pear-shaped body rising from a splayed foot to a tall cylindrical neck with lipped rim, boldly painted with a wide band of floral scroll, the neck with overlapping lotus lappets and a criss-cross band, all divided by double lines, covered overall in a rich turquoise glaze, Japanese wood box

Condition

This vase is in good condition, but there is a small shallow chip (3mm by 3mm) to the rim. The rim is slightly mis-shaped and is not exactly circular and the same can be said for the neck. There is some crazing/glaze cracks to the glaze throughout, but particularly noticeable to the neck.
