Catalogue Note

A RARE EARLY POSTER OF HARRY BECK'S ICONIC LONDON UNDERGROUND MAP. Beck (1902-1974) was an electrical draughtsman and produced his wonderfully simple map based on a circuit diagram. His first draught was initially rejected by London Transport, but after a successful trial, the map was published in 1933, and has been constantly reprinted and revised to the present day.
