SILVER CASE (80 x 121mm.), sprung hinge at top, gilt interior, one side with engraved map of Iran and the Gulf and portrait of King Darius accompanied by two attendants, captioned "Darius leaving the Palace (Persepolis)", locations and cartouche in English, signed and dated by the engraver "D. Papazian - Ispahan - 1944", the reverse engraved like a stamped postcard in French and Persian and addressed in English "To / Plukovnik" in "Cairo", the 'post mark' dated "1.5.1944 / Isfahan"
