Catalogue Note

One of the watercolours appears as a woodcut in Thomas Staunton St Clair's book A Residence in the West Indies and America (London, 1834), volume 1, page 214. The other 8 watercolours have manuscript notes on the back, suggesting they were also used as book illustrations, but we have been unable to trace the work in which they were published.
