A fine series of engravings by the Mexican artist Montes de Oca, copies of which at auction often appear to lack one or more plates.

San Felipe de Jesus entered the priesthood and was sent to the Philippines. On his return to Mexico his ship was blown off course in a storm and wrecked on the coast of Japan where he was captured and crucified.
