Catalogue Note
Wellsted's short career was almost entirely devoted to surveying and exploration of the Red Sea, Arabia and Oman during a number of expeditions between 1830 and 1837.
The whole of the first volume relates to the author's experiences in Oman, which represents the fullest account of the area then published.
A very good set, with the plates exceptionally clean for this first edition.
