Condition

Overall in very good condition. All of the Turtle-Back tiles appear original and undisturbed, with no visible cracks or condition issues. With minor surface soiling scattered along the lead lines and to some of the recessed contours of the glass. All of the Turtle-Back tiles are beautifully iridized on the exterior, and when viewed with exterior reflected light display strong luminous color with a range of brilliant jewel-tone hues. When illuminated and viewed with remitted light from within, the chandelier emits a rich warm glow and is quite dramatic. The bronze work on the shade displays a particularly rich and satisfying gilt patina. The upper gilt bronze shade mount and hook with a few small and minor shallow surface indentations, light rubbing and minor surface soiling/discolorations consistent with age and gentle handling. All of the sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. With replaced gilt metal chain and ceiling canopy. An exceptionally strong and artistic example of this series, displaying elegant proportions and superb coloration to the tiles. The gilt patina is particularly attractive and harmonious with the glass coloration. -----
