Condition

Overall in very good condition. As expected with the Cypriote technique, the exterior surfaces are wonderfully irregular and tactile, showing some occasional surface irregularities and open air bubbles, all inherent in the making and decorative technique. The exterior of the vase with a few very light and fine surfaces scratches. The exterior is intensely iridized, imparting the vase with strong luminous color and a range of brilliant hues. An exceptional example of Tiffany's Cypriote technique, displaying finely articulated peacock feather decoration against the rich Cypriote passages. When viewing this vase firsthand, the coloration is more nuanced and subtle than seen in the catalogue photography, which is slightly over-saturated. Please see pages 6 and 7 for a highly detailed photograph of the vase. -----
