Condition
Colour:
The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is warmer in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals some minor handling marks and wear in places to the edges and overturn edges, with some associated small losses to the top left corner, centre of the top edge and lower right edge. There are faint stretcher bar marks along all four edges. Further close inspection reveals a minute fly spot towards the bottom right corner and a small speck of media accretion to the left edge of the largest ovoid. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra violet light.

Catalogue Note
“…he already showed the aims of his research: the dialectical contradiction between space and the object, the perverse definition (the only one possible) of emptiness.”
Giulio Carlo Argan quoted in: Bologna, Galleria d'arte moderna, Paolo Scheggi, 1976, n.p.
