Description

  • Ivory, Walnut
each with globular finials above a rectangular back with two winged terms flanking a flaming urn and with scrolling foliage above a rectangular caned seat, the seat-rail with scrolling foliage on turned front legs on toupie feet and sabre rear legs

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Colour overall slightly less orange and more natural than in the catalogue photo. Five chairs have their side-rails with restored breaks. The backs are decorated with scrolling foliage. One has a crack on the back-rail where the side-rail joins it and their are various restorations to the same. There is a construction crack to the top-rail of another where the top-rail joins the back which can easily be filled. There are some scattered age cracks generally and old very minor restorations commensurate with age and normal usage. There is evidence of old very minor worm which appears to be no longer active. One chair has restorations to the front and back leg one of which has been strengthened and there is a very small crack and chip to the veneer to the same one. The feet are a bit scuffed.
