Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Some minor rubbing to the gilding in places to the red bole as visible in the photograph and some very minor chips to the gilding. The colour of the panel on the right side appears to be slightly lighter than the rest as there has been some degradation of the background. There is a section chipped off the from of the front left leg. The decoration and gilding has been refreshed.

Furniture decorated with glass has existed since the Ancient Egyptians and the taste for it has filtered down through the centuries reaching its apogee in the late 18th century.
