Description

  • Giltwood, Glass
  • 227cm. high, 148cm. wide; 9ft. 1in., 4ft. 10¼in.
with a central arched and divided rectangular plate within a mirrored border with engraved mirror plates with classical figures, with a leaf carved cresting with foliage to the sides 

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. The central mirror plate is a later replacement.Some of the detail of the engraved figures has been lost. There is degradation of the mercury, as visible from the catalogue photograph. Some minor losses to the carving and gilding as visible from the catalogue photograph. There are some minor losses to plate at the base of the cresting that can be easily replaced. Old minor restorations to the carving which has been well executed.
