the compressed globular body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall cylindrical neck, painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with stylised dragon and floral strapwork between classic scroll and dentil bands at the foot and foliate scroll and key-fret bands at the collar, the neck with stiff leaf and archaistic bands, fitted as a lamp; illustrated on opposite page
Condition
The neck of the vase has been broken into several pieces and restored and there are light scratches around the body and a 1cm., hairline firing crack, otherwise the body is in good condition.
