Under UV light, minor repaints are visible on the lower left alongside the frame.
The visual in the catalogue is a little too clear : the colors are more contrasted, warm and strong in reality.

Giuseppe Canella arriva vers 1818 en France, où il vécut jusqu'en 1832. Durant son séjour parisien, entrecoupé de voyages à l'étranger, il exécuta de nombreuses vues de Paris. Notre tableau est à rapprocher d'une vue quasi aérienne de la Passerelle des Arts datant de 1829, passée en vente chez Sotheby's à New York, le 7 mai 1998.
