Condition

On bare eye: The painting is in an overall relatively good condition. It has been wax relinedin the second half of the 20th century, a little strongly. It has also been cleaned in the second part of the 20th century, a little strongly but well made in the characters but some galze parts in the backgrounf have been removed, especially in the central part. We cannot notice any restorations. UnderUV lamp: We can notice several restorations in the upper characters. In the lower part, we can notice several little restorations in the head of the central horse and a trace of a small

Catalogue Note

Notre tableau est une version du tableau qui se trouve au Trianon (M.V. 8328) commandé par Louis XIV et peint autour de 1699.
Notre composition montre de légères différences avec celui du Trianon. Si la composition générale est la même, elle est tout de même moins détaillée et l'échelle des personnages plus petite ce qui laisse penser que notre oeuvre serait le modello pour l'oeuvre du Trianon, comme indiqué au catalogue de l'exposition de 1704 Le Salon, Les Arts et le Roi.
