Description

  • 12,5 x 18 cm; 5 by 7 in.

Condition

This is a very fine and crisp cast, in very good condition overall with minor wear to the warm brown patina consistent with age and handling. There are remains of black lacquer and a few minor dents to the surface, in particular to the Bull's proper right ear and horn. On a later ebonised wooden base with a few dents and scratches. Very fine bronze which can be recommended.

Catalogue Note

Autrefois attribué au "Maître des Figures de Genre", ce modèle a maintenant intégré le corpus des petits bronzes de Barthélémy Prieur. Un bronze du même modèle provenant de la collection Hatvany a été vendu par Sotheby's New York, le 27 janvier 2006.
