Condition
A few lacks to the enamel on the lids, with the gilding of copper mainely missing. The dragon's head of one handle is broken off. A few minor dents consistent with age and handling, with and one drilling hole to the edge of the lid.

Ce type de réceptacle à fonction liturgique apparaît en France au début du XIIIe siècle. Son nom dérive de sa forme simulant un petit navire dit "navette". Un modèle similaire se trouve à Paris, au musée de Cluny (inv. n° 11157), un autre figurait dans l'ancienne collection Charles Gillot (sa vente les 4 et 5 mars 2088, lot 194, adjugé 11.050 €).
