Condition
The painting is dirty and the canvas is a little bit loose.
A small tear is visible in the lower part in the middle, below the tree in the middle and is visible in the catalogue.
Another small tear is visible in the middle on the right, by the tree on the right hand side - also visible in the catalogue.
Thin cracks are visible.
The visual in the catalogue is too dark : the lower part, especially for the ground.
Very good condition.
Under UV light, two small material losses are visible in the tree in the upper part. Another small loss appears due to an old scratch that has been restored (a while ago) in the upper right.
The painting is presented in a nice frame with pearls and palms.

Catalogue Note
Cette oeuvre, d'une grande sensibilité, montrant un paysage au travers d'un rideau d'arbres, a été exécutée vers 1855-1865. Dès 1855, Corot se rend fréquemment dans l'Aisne, à Château-Thierry, où son neveu se maria en 1863. Il y exécute un certain nombre de tableaux, dont deux compositions sont reproduites dans l'Oeuvre de Corot par Alfred Robaut, Paris 1905, Volume III, p. 19 n°1290 et 1291.
