Condition

Overall good original condition. The chair presents with a beautiful original patina to the leather throughout. The leather with scattered crazing, surface scratches, scattered minor edge nicks discolorations and darkening, all consistent with the natural aging process of the material and gentle use as seen in the catalogue illustration. The proper right corner of the seat with two cirdular areas of possible restoration, both measuring ¾ inch in diameter. The interior of the armrests with some surface staining and drips due to exposure to water. The proper right exterior of the arm with an abrasion to the leather surface adjacent to the piping measuring 8 ¼ inches long. With one semi-circular impressed scratch to the leather of the proper right side of the chair adjacent to the brass tacks. With a larger area of discoloration to the seatback consistent with age and use, which can be seen in the catalogue illustration. With scattered minor losses to the exterior piping of both arms and along the top edge of the seatback. The reverse of the seatback with a horizontal discoloration that extends the width of the back approximately eight inches below the crest. The portion of the upholstery above this discoloration presents slightly darker in tone. There are three adjacent circular water marks to this area, the largest of which measuring 2 inches in diameter. Below the discoloration there are a series of vertical discolorations likely from water, extending to the bottom of the seat. With an abrasion the proper right reverse of the seatback adjacent to the armrest. The wooden frame with scattered nicks, dings and shallow scratches consistent with age and contact with adjacent surfaces. The proper left front leg with one 1 ¾ inch scratch and the proper left back leg with one ¾ inch edge loss. The chair presents with a beautiful patina to the leather and retains its original brass tacks.
