Condition
The bottle has a miniscule nick to the outer footrim. The colour of the monkey and the butterfly appear to have been slightly faded, but the inside painting is otherwise well preserved.

Miniature bottles from earlier production of inside painted snuff bottles are relatively rare and only produced by certain artists (mainly by Ma Shaoxuan 馬少宣 and family, Yan Yutian 閆玉田 and Meng Zishou 孟子受).
