each of rectangular form, a pair of fielded, single-panel doors set within a beaded frame, the side panels similarly fielded, framed by square section posts continuing to form the legs, joined by shaped and beaded aprons, the front carved with archaistic scrolls, the interior with two shelves, one over two short drawers, with brass lockplates, hinges and pulls (2)

Provenance

Collection of Leon and Jean Dalva, acquired in the 1950s or early 1960s, and thence by descent.

Condition

The front and side panels of both cabinets with some shrinkage, splits and repaired splits. One side panel with a break and missing section to inside corner of the frame. The other cabinet with a metal screw-repaired break below on front lock plate.The back panels are loose and consolidated with an external wood frame that is also loose. The metal mounts have most likely been replaced.
