the slender body rising to a wide, flaring mouth, the central bulb cast with taotie divided by vertical flanges and on a leiwen ground, all between raised fillets encircling the body, a cruciform aperture set to either side, and a similarly cast taotie band at the spreading foot, the dark green patina covered overall with mottled malachite

Condition
There are extensive restorations to breaks around the neck, mouth and the base of the vessel. Heavy malachite encrustation to the vessel, and the lower section with dents and compression. The upper and low sections reinforced with a bolt through the center. X-ray images are available.
