the 108 amber beads divided by four amethyst fotou (Buddha heads), the fotou at the back connected to a gourd-shaped fotouta (Buddha head stupa), supporting a silk cord tassel intersected by a flattened rectangular jade pendant, terminating to a filigree-mounted carnelian tear-shaped bead, enhanced by three jinnian strands of amethyst beads each further suspending filigree-mounted hardstone tear-shaped drops, fitted silk box (3)

Acquired in Singapore, circa 1980s.

Condition

The necklace has been restrung. The jadeite plaque is a possible replacement. A few of the amber beads have fractures. One large amethyst bead has two chips, and the 'buddha's head' bead and its collar, each have a chip.
