Description

  • bronze
heavily cast with rectangular section and undulating sides, the pear-shaped body rising from a short splayed foot to a waisted neck, flanked by a pair of lion mask handles and cast in low relief with a band of archaistic kui dragons against a leiwen ground, all above archaistic pendent cicada blades, the foot with a key-fret band, the base with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark within a recessed panel

Condition

There are minor nicks along the edges and on the surface, and a repair to the base on one of the short sides beneath the handle.
