Description

both with angled walls rising from the base, the first impressed on the interior with a band of grapes growing from leafy vines, the short foot ring enclosing three irregular spur marks; the second with six notches around the rim, the slightly concave base with three spur marks, the glaze with prominent crackle (2)

Condition

Both bowls with networks of crackle in the glaze and general signs of wear. The larger with firing imperfections such as glaze gaps, burst bubbles in the glaze and scattered kiln dust on the interior. There is an approximately 3 cm crackle line at the rim that is visible on both the interior and exterior and is possibly a crack. The smaller dish has some burst bubbles in the glaze, there are two potting lines under the glaze at the rim, there is a crackle line from the rim extending towards the base that is visible on both the interior and exterior and is possibly a crack, and the glaze in the center of the dish and around the foot is worn.
