Catalogue Note

According to K.S. Lo, The Stoneware of Yixing from the Ming Period to the Present, Hong Kong, 1986, p. 76, the popularity of wares made by Hui Mengchen was so great that his descendants continued using his name on wares that they produced well into the 19th century, making it difficult to distinguish between teapots made by Mengchen himself and those made by his descendants.
