Description

each painted with a continuous scene of five sages examining the taiji diagram, surrounded by emblems of longevity including pine trees, deer, cranes, ancient rocks and lingzhi, the grassy ground applied with a pale green wash, the neck flanked by stylized kuilong handles (2)
Condition
Both vases appear to be in good overall condition. There are the expected signs of wear and firing imperfections common on vases of this size and type, such as scattered iron spots, burst bubbles in the glaze and a slightly uneven 'orange peel' surface. There is also some slight speckling in the glaze. One vase has a firing line at the foot and some bubbling to the glaze along the edge of the foot.
