the interior with four compartments, the cover painted with an animated depiction of young boys playing, the box with lotus scrolls and shuangxi characters, the interior and base enameled turquoise, the latter with a six-character Jiaqing seal mark in iron-red (2)

American family collection, acquired in the 1940s (by repute).
Condition
The box has some minor flaking to the enamels. The cover has a 1.9 cm chip to the lip rim, and a firing flaw to the enamel on the top, seen on the boy holding a musical instrument. Both the box and cover with some general wear to the enamels and gilding, and minor firing imperfections.
