18 leaves of plates containing 101 hand-colored illustrations with original cloth-backed brocade boards, tied, from a limited edition of 100 copies, illustrating the signs used by Chinese shopkeepers to advertise their trade, each sign accompanied by a description in English and Chinese

Condition

There is wear to the edges and corners of the cover and to the slip label. The string binding the book is frayed. There are approximately 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) tears to the top and lower left edges of the title page, page 1 has a minor tear to the right edge, page 3 has a minor tear to the bottom edge and right edge. There are light signs of wear consistent with age and use. Overall the book is in good condition.
