Description

polished surface, the sides applied with chrysoprase and carnelian cabochons within reed and ropetwist borders, the cartouche-form handle inset with a silver half rouble coin of Peter I dated 1720, struck with workmaster's initials and K. Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, 84 standard, scratched inventory number 10757

Condition

Excellent condition. The base with light scratches and very small indentation to the front.

Catalogue Note

Jenny Väkevä was the wife of Konstantin and thus daughter-in-law of the head of the silversmithing family, Stefan. Widowed in 1902, she inherited the right to mark part of the family's production with her own initials.
