Condition
The canvas is original. There is a layer of surface dirt and the varnish has discoloured. Stretcher bar marks are visible at the edges and running horizontally through the composition. There are a few areas of restoration in the expanse of sky which are visible to the naked eye. In the upper right is a repaired tear with a patch on the reverse. Examination under UV light reveals the areas of restoration in the sky, to the right of the date and other scattered areas of retouching. Held in simple gold coloured frame. Unexamined out of frame.
