Condition

Original canvas. The paint surface is dirty. There is a scratch with associated flecks of paint loss to the right of the soldier's face and a further lighter scratch on the man's right elbow. UV light reveals uneven layer of varnish. There is no apparent retouching. Held in a brown wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
