Pierre-Charles Mané entered his mark August 2, 1777 sponsored by Dominique-François Poitreau, and worked in rue des Arcis, parish of St. Merry. In 1778 Le Journal de Paris published an announcement that Mané offered the Academy of Sciences a number of pieces including a copper panel, models of watch cases, ivory portraits of the king and Henry IV as a demonstration of his ability in engine-turning.
