the Archangel Gabriel holding a lily and mirror is shown at center with the All-Seeing Eye above, surrounded by St. Paul the Confessor, the Martyr Saints Gurii, Simon, and Aviv, St. Tikhon the Wonderworker, and St. Christopher, the gilded silver oklad chased and repoussé with scrolling ornament, the cartouche at lower center with the Cyrillic inscription "this icon was painted in Smolensk in 1755," struck with Cyrillic initials Ya.S of an unidentified master (Postnikova-Loseva #3000), assaymark of Andrei Titov, mark of an unidentified alderman (Postnikova-Loseva #2135), Moscow, 1787
